Michelle and Nico are two special bride and groom, as well as two great friends of us. When we were asked to be the photographers of their marriage, it was an honor and a thrill for us: we knew we were going to photograph something unique! Nico, better known as Lopez, is a highly versatile artist, able to move with ease from graffiti art to video, photography, installation, maintaining a personal style and never dull looking (here you can see his website ). The love for their land has led them to choose, as location of their marriage, the Rocca Sillana fortress. This castle, restored and opened to public by the Soprintendenza, stands on a rugged hill, 530 meters above sea level, surrounded by a thick forest and it is a site rich in history, from the Etruscans to the Middle Ages to us. From its walls the view stretches to 360 degrees over the Val di Cecina and the show is truly breathtaking. A marriage of an artist could only be a special wedding: and so, starting from a gown inspired by the one of Donald Duck, the crazy and emotional ritual officiated by two talented actors, the blessing with sea water, arriving to the joy of friends, the power of music & words, we laughed and cried together with these two beautiful spouses. We took them over rolling hills where the wheat had just been harvested and then along the river that, from those valleys still intact, reaches the sea. We celebrated with them at Podere San Sisto and we felt privileged eyes of a unique event, made of simplicity, affection, love, friendship, as we did not seen from a long time.
